On Saturday, August 23, 2008, in Harrison, AR at North Arkansas College's Main Campus... it's "Wii Olympics 2008!" Day of Registration starts at 11:00am, gameplay starts at 1:00pm promptly.

Presented by Ozarks Elite Magazine, North Arkansas College's Student Government Assoc., Game Exchange, and KCWD 96.

The event is a Video game super tournament on the Nintendo Wii! We will have at least 8 Wii's hooked up to projectors and playing on giant 8 ft. screens!

Each participant will be assigned a country to represent with honor and pride.


There will be 8 events, and those are: Guitar Hero III, Super Smash Bros., Mario Kart, Bowling, Boxing, Tennis, Golf, and a pentathlon (the 4 sports events and Guitar Hero).

The event is a dual fundraiser for both North Arkansas College's Phi Beta Lambda student group who will be manning the snack bar, selling concessions throughout the day! The other is a new non-profit called the "Greater Ozarks Business Opportunities Initiative" (GO-BOI!), GO-BOI raises money to fund scholarships for financially disadvantaged students so that they can actually go to college or get some type of technical training.


The costs to enter are $5 per event, $20 for the pentathlon, and the "Pioneer Party Pack" is $50, which includes entry in all 8 events, a souvenir "Wii Olympics 2008" t-shirt, and choice of a pizza or hamburger lunch with chips, drink,and dessert.

There is also a deal for grandparents or parents that sign up with a child, they get a 2 for 1 deal!!! Group rates and multiple child discounts are available!!!

The best part about Wii Olympics is that the Gold, Silver, and Bronze medal winners of each event and the particpants from the "country" who wins the most medals all win prizes!!!

The current prize list includes:

A $300 guitar from GuitarSmiths, $200 in Quiznos gift certificates, (5) free rounds of golf including cart at Diamond City Country Club, (4) free rounds of golf including cart at the Links of Harrison, a free 6-month membership and (2) free 3-month memberships at Burleson Martial Arts Academy, free ice cream cakes from DQ, (2) custom backpacks from Choice of Champions, (6) free lunches from Coltons Steakhouse, gift certificates from Miguels, Las Cazuelas, Tony Z's, Red Lobster, Shorty Smalls, Chilis, and Game Exchange.
